Salesforce Summer’ 20 Release Notes: Top and Trending
Salesforce published its new release on May 5, 2020, with a lot of new features and functionalities expanding innovations across the entire Customer 360 platform to empower people with a single shared view of the customer and deliver efficiently.
Here are some featured highlights of the release that we’ve put together just for you.
1. Use Dynamic Forms to break up your Record Details (Non-GA Preview)
The next step in the evolution of the Lightning record pages is the Dynamic Forms. They enable the users to configure fields and sections in the record detail page inside the Salesforce Lightning App Builder. The users are no longer dependent on the page layouts. They can break up record details, make dynamic actions, and control their visibility using the visibility setting via Dynamic Forms.
As of now, this feature is only available to custom objects. However, this feature is Non-GA Preview which means that it doesn’t come under Salesforce services and has to be requested from Salesforce.
2. Split View for Standard Navigation to work with the lists with ease
Though this feature was already available in the Console UI, its addition in the Non-Console Apps will help the user in easy navigation; without extra navigating from back and forth to view different lists or records.
An amazing addition to the Non-Console App, the Split View enables the Salesforce user to see a list view and a record side by side saving a lot of time spent in skimming through records.
3. Salesforce Optimizer App to speed up Org’s maintenance
Released over 3 years ago, Salesforce Optimizer has been used to provide insights into the performance and general health of the Org downloaded on PDFs to the Admins. Salesforce Summer ‘20 release offers and interactive was to maintain your Salesforce org’s implementation by reviewing and acting on the expert recommendations.
There is no package to install this App, the user just needs to enable the app and run it. It will automatically identify the issues such as Components using older API versions, Admin permission, Unassigned permission set, etc, requiring immediate attention and offer links to Salesforce recommendations for the next steps on the result pages.
4. The new In-App Guidance Builder
The In-App Guidance Builder enables the admins to create helpful prompts and walkthroughs about performing a task or navigating through the Salesforce Interface. With its UI similar to Salesforce’s other builder tools, it is easy and intuitive to create onboarding sequences.
5. Get Everything Einstein Search Has to Offer (Beta)
Einstein Search gives a big boost in brainpower to the standard search field. Released last year, it has become increasingly important with the amount of data we have been storing in Salesforce Org. It enables you to get faster actionable search results tailored to how you work in Salesforce. This tool is personal, natural, and actionable, it learns from you, and displays records accordingly.
6. Full View Layout of the records.
Salesforce has launched two record page view default options to choose from as per your business’ needs and preferences. Grouped view (current view) and the new Full view. The full view displays all details and related lists on the same page (Similar to classic view). For the users who prefer the Salesforce classic styles view switch for the Lightning “Full View”, as it gives off a more classic feel to the page layout. It includes the same functionality as the beta release and is available to qualifying Salesforce org.
7. Critical Updates page replaced with ‘Release Updates’
With the Salesforce Summer ’20 release, the ‘Classic’ style layouts have been removed from the Lightning and the old ‘Critical Updates’ page has been replaced with ‘Release Updates’. It provides a detailed view of information on which updates impact your Salesforce Org and how. Additionally, it provides the information found in the Security Alert node.
The information on all the updates and alerts can be viewed in a single, easy-to-use, page. Also, it enables the user to filter the information and perform an action on an update with the steps to evaluate its impact on your org.
