SLACK

Acquired: December 1, 2020

Cost: $27.7 Billion

This one is the largest acquisition ever made by Salesforce. The CRM giant entered to sign a definitive agreement to purchase Slack for a massive $27.7B. Slack, a workplace messaging app, would become the new interface of Customer 360. Going by the reports, this deal will close by summer 2021.

This deal is supposed to be the result of the new virtual sales demands that organizations need to meet during this unprecedented time. Salesforce, in a smart move, signed this agreement as they were fast to cater to the sudden customer needs in the work-from-anywhere environment

ACUMEN SOLUTIONS

Acquired: December 2020

Cost: $570 Million

Salesforce signs a definitive agreement to acquire one of its consulting partners, Acumen Solutions. But you must be asking why a consulting partner? So, this is not the first time Salesforce has acquired a consulting partner.

Previously, Salesforce has acquired Kerensen Consulting (2015), ATKA, and others. Acumen Solutions is a ‘Salesforce Top 10’ partner having a 640-strong team of certified professionals.

Besides, Consultancy acquisitions help Salesforce to expand geographically, access trained Salesforce professionals, or to create client relationships.

MOBIFY

Acquired: September 6, 2020

Cost: $60 Million

Salesforce acquired the Canada-based eCommerce software startup Mobify in a $60 Million deal. Mobify will provide Salesforce Commerce Cloud with a solution to help brands personalize their e-commerce experiences and deliver shopping experiences across every platform.

Besides, Salesforce Commerce Cloud empowers companies to create seamless commerce experiences for B2C and B2B across any channel.

THE CMO CLUB

Acquired: March 2, 2020

Cost: Not known

Salesforce acquired a member-based Content marketing and media company, The CMO Club, earlier this year. They are the most active group of CMOs in the world, dedicated to supporting each other.

Also, This acquisition would transform contemporary B2B practices, offering best-in-marketing tools, events, and online webinars for clients and young marketing technology professionals.

VLOCITY

Acquired: February 2020

Cost: $1.33 Billion

For the world’s top communications, media and entertainment, energy, infrastructure, insurance, health, and government agencies, Vlocity is a leading provider of industry-specific cloud and mobile apps.

Vlocity will continue to strengthen and complement the business capabilities and product awareness of Salesforce. It will also open up new industry capabilities built on the Salesforce platform.

EVERGAGE

Acquired: February 2020

Cost: $100 Million

Salesforce acquired this customer data platform for its personalization engine that would benefit its Marketing Cloud. Evergage, the leading software platform, would also accelerate the company’s efforts to offer personalized solutions to its thousands of customers.

Besides, in 2019, Evergage received multiple awards, most recently being named in the inaugural Rele Awards as “CDP of the Year” and “Personalization Tech Solution of the Year.”
