Bengaluru’s Trailheadx India: A runaway success for the ages
What is Trailheadx though?
Over the course of Salesforce’s journey to becoming a go-to Saas business platform, few things have been as important as Trailhead to drive adoption. It’s an all-out brainstorm created for Trailblazers to discover and train that new muscle for Salesforce implements.
It’s for everyone, from clicks-not-code folks to code-only-purists to absolute beginners in the space.
Christmas came early this year around, with a smash-hit TrailheaDX unfolding in Bengaluru at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) between December 19 and 20. It was India’s largest Salesforce Developer Conference to date.
It’s also been the first Trailhead so far to take place outside of San Francisco, besides being the first in India! President and Chief Product Officer, Bret Taylor spearheaded the event with a riveting keynote.
Breakouts and Super Sessions
All in all, among the many highlights of the event, there’ve been over a hundred tech sessions, workshops, and hands-on jams from the absolute best in the business.
Altogether, talking Points at these sessions ranged from platform 101 to plain superpowers like templating and process automation nuances.
What’s more, all-important breakouts by Salesforce engineers and product experts delved deep into essential skills fro fellow Trailblazers.
Leitmotifs
To summarize the ongoings of the event, here’s a brief list of some crowd-pulling motifs touched on through two days. In particular, bases covered included:
- Realtime integrations with Mulesoft and Streaming API
- The hottest tech, Integrations, and Web Components
- Sensibility for Chatbots was discussed in a breakout
- Cultivating trust, acceleration for operation-critical development
- Platform Development Creds, trade secrets, and career routes
- Moving away from Aura, LWC and Apex 101 to fight Aura’s inertia
- Flow solutions and Templates for Process Automation
- Service Cloud and Einstein Bot Experiences for enhanced support experiences
- Navigating the Trailblazer Community, and finally…
- Digital Transformation by Mulesoft-ing Everything Legacy
On the flip side, there’ve been pro-breakout sessions that hit the ground running. The Advanced Flow Development Breakout that, in that vein, even went far enough to preview 2020’s much-talked-about Flow capabilities.
Pre-built flow templates also made the mentions with for beating ‘coder’s-block’.
Enablers in the Spotlight
ON account of their powerful enablement to new-movers on the platform, usage of Customer 360 for CI, faster updates and security, as well the 101 on Salesforce’s extension for VScode were also touched on.
Super Sessions
These were undoubtedly the most sought after sessions in the mix as key experienced seniors held super sessions on Blockchain, Integration, Lightning, Einstein, and Appexchange
Learning Areas
The best and brightest movers in Salesforce took over with walk-to demonstrations on an array of platform capabilities like 26 Product Demo Stations. Not to mention, there were separate stations for Tableau and the Customer 360 platform.
Fun done right: Treasure hunting anyone?
For one thing, Admins and rookies alike flocked to the mini-hack challenges with their A-game. They soon took a shot at the exciting giveaways in store for them.
To top things off, fellow Trailblazers explored Trailheadx Quest for a fun-filled Swag Hunt with opportunities to give back to the local community. Proceeds from each Quest subsequently went to a local school.
