Continuing our tutorials on creating Asana Tasks in Salesforce, we have brought another insightful blog on using Workato for creating Asana tasks with opportunity records in Salesforce.

Workato is an integration and automation platform that helps connect different applications and systems, including Salesforce, to streamline workflows and data synchronization.

It enables businesses to create automated workflows, known as recipes, that connect various apps and services without the need for coding or complex integration processes.

So, let’s begin learning how to create an Asana task with a Salesforce opportunity record using Workato.

Steps to Create Asana Task With Salesforce Opportunity Record using Workato

Before we start, we will have to create a Workato account. Click here to create the account.

Step 1: First, we will create a Workato account.

Step 2: Now, We need to create a Project in Workato Account.

Step 3: Here, we will go on Create to Top Right Corner. Add click Connection.

Step 4: Now We add a New connection to Salesforce. which Automatically adds to Workato Project.

Step 5: Now we add New Connection Asana. which Automatically adds to Workato Project.

Step 6: Now we Create a Recipe. Under Recipe, we create Trigger Automation to Create Asana Task from Salesforce Opportunity Record.

In the above Image Trigger, Automation Creates an Asana Task with a Salesforce Opportunity Record.

And we will define Automation Steps as follow.

  • Firstly, we click on New/updated Opportunity in Salesforce. On the Right side open the popup. And give Opportunity object and Fields to retrieve and in Trigger data* give condition if opportunity stage equals to closed won.
  • Now the second step we will click if condition and give the condition if Opportunity id is present.
  • The third and last step is creating Asana Task. In Create Asana Task, we give Mandatory Fields for creating Asana Task like Workspace ID*, Project ID, Due on, Task Name, and Description.

Now we go to salesforce org and create an Opportunity record. When the Opportunity Record is created and the Opportunity stage is closed won then Asana Task will be created automatically in Asana Account and we will redirect to Asana Account and check Task in the project.
